Late Show Highlights

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Anyone see The Late Show with David Letterman last night? I really admire Letterman’s ability to deliver jokes. They’re not always funny jokes, but he delivers them so well that the monologue is always enjoyable to sit through. It’s very similar to The Simpsons. Here was my favorite from last night:

We got another audio tape from Osama Bin Laden. Have you heard it? He attacks moderate Arab leaders. He calls for renewed Jihad. And he gives his NCAA picks. He’s going with Butler. And then on the tape he wonders out loud why Jennifer Aniston can’t hold on to a guy.

Nicholas Cage was his first guest. Everyone has an opinion of this guy. Personally, I will always love him for Con Air. I understand that I am alone in my feeling on this.

Late Night Highlights

Anyone see Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night?  The monologue jokes were good, but he still has a way to go on his pacing and timing. I did have two favorites worth sharing:

You know my favorite part of March Madness? The “buzzer beaters”. You know what I’m talking about? I love the buzzer beaters. When I was a little kid I use to watch the games and picture myself out there. The clocks running down, 3…2…1, and then I’d push the buzzer.

A blind man in Missouri kicked down the door to a woman’s apartment and saved her from an intruder. Reached for comment the blind man said, “I did what?”

The segments between the monologue and guests remind me of skits on SNL. Interpret that anyway you want.

Clive Owen was Fallon’s first guest tonight.  It was a good interview and the foosball bit was hilarious. I’ve been an Owen fan since Children of Men, which is on my list of my 20 favorite films of all time. And, he’s got rugged good looks to boot. I could have rugged good looks if I wanted.

Paul Tuttle, Sr. from American Chopper was on next. I don’t think I’d have the guts to interview him, however. I would wet myself if he got pissed off during our chat. I just can’t take that risk.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday night. I feel that it’s my patriotic duty to watch it.

Late Show Highlights

Anyone see The Late Show with David Letterman last night? My favorite monologue joke came at the very end (you can probably see why):

Octo-Mom says she will never reveal the identity of the octuplets father. And I thought, “well, at least she can keep her mouth shut.”

A few minutes later at his desk Dave dropped the bomb that he married Regina Lasko, his long-time girlfriend and mother of his 5 year-old son last Thursday. Congratulations Dave.

Sarah Paulson was Dave’s second guest last night. Sarah was wonderful in the short-lived, but awesome, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I was already a fan of hers for that, but now I have moved it up a notch after seeing her last night. She spent most of her time with Dave discussing her anxiety issues. At one point Dave asked if she was working on resolving these issues and Sarah responded, “I’m attached to my anxiety.”

That is a great quote.
