Late Late Show Highlights

The pre-opening credit segment from last night’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson wasn’t very interesting and can be skipped.

Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

Somebody sent me an envelope with white powder. Now, it turns out it was just cornstarch, which is kind of a mixed blessing. On one hand, I have an enemy out there. On the other hand, my soups will now be thicker and richer.

Researchers in Britain claim they’ve discovered a gel that prevents tooth decay. Now, no offense to the British researchers, but we’ve got this in America, it’s called toothpaste.

The East Coast is still cleaning up after the earthquake. Experts are saying this kind of thing only happens once a century. It’s Larry King’s third.

The desk segment was tweetmail. I wasn’t very entertaining, so we’re going to skip the clip.

Regis Philbin was the first couch guest. He is one of the hosts of the morning show Live with Regis and Kelly. The interview was terrific. Regis is a funny and talented guy who knows how to entertain an audience. So it was no surprise that he and Craig were great together. It was a lot of fun to watch. Hopefully a clip of the interview that I can post will become available at some point.

Marina Franklin was the stand-up guest. She was very funny and I really enjoyed her humor. My only complaint was that it was too short. I would have liked the segment to have been quite a bit longer.

The closing segment was stupid and can be skipped.

Fine show. I give it:
