Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

New House Speaker John Boehner broadcast his swearing-in ceremony live on Facebook today. Not to be outdone Joe Biden went on Facebook and took a quiz to see what Jersey Shore character he is.

Speaking of Facebook a woman in Indiana stabbed her boyfriend because he wouldn’t let her look at his Facebook page. The guy’s relationship status now reads: What do you think?

The State of New York has fired 90% of its official Kosher Inspectors. This is the first decision from New York’s newest elected official: Governor Mel Gibson.

I read that the fast-food chain Chick-fil-A is reportedly sponsoring two anti-gay marriage conferences. A lot of people are upset about this, especially their competition Chick-on-Chick-fil-A.

The desk segments were Late Night Hashtags and the Oregon Ducks Power Ballad sung by Sebastian Bach. Both were pretty decent and may possibly be worth watching:

Tim McGraw was the first couch guest. He is a country music legend and in the new film Country Strong. Before I review the interview I need to point out why the Roots have won the Best Band Golden Woody two years in a row. When Tim came out they played a piece of the song “Timmy” from a South Park episode many years ago. That’s good stuff right there folks. Anyhoo, Tim was great. He was a very comfortable shade of mellow, funny and actually decently easy to relate to. Here’s a clip:

At the end they played ladder golf. It was good:

Emmy Rossum was the second couch guest. She stars on the new show Shameless. Emmy gave a terrific interview. She told some great stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. Also, I have completely fallen in love with her. Here’s a clip, but remember, I saw her first:

was the musical guest. It doesn’t matter how good or bad they play, their name alone makes them awesome. But, as it turns out, their performance was good.

Great show. I give it:

– Woody
