Jimmy Kimmel Live Highlights

All the late night talk shows were repeats last night. So I am going to review last Friday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kimmel doesn’t do a typical monologue. After setting up each joke he allows a short video to deliver the punch line stead of doing it himself. So even if one of his jokes were funny it would be hard to repeat it here. One bit worth mentioning was This Week in Unnecessary Censorship. It’s on the home page that is linked at the beginning of the paragraph.

I’m a big fan of Texas hold ‘em, so I enjoyed watching the segment Taxes hold ‘em. Four contestants, each of which is receiving a federal tax refund, played. The winner had their tax refund quadrupled.

Ben Affleck was Kimmel’s first guest. The last time these two were together they made this music video, which they spent over half their time together discussing.  Good times.

Lily Allen was the musical guest. Kimmel actually talked with her before she performed, which was refreshing.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights

Hey everyone. Sorry I’m so late with today’s blog post. That happens when I’m on tour.

Anyone see Jimmy Kimmel Live! list night? Kimmel had one pretty good monologue joke:

Someone at the White House made a big mistake yesterday. They flew Air Force One right over the city of New York, which scared the hell out of a lot of people. Thousands of people panicked. Some even evacuated their office buildings. And it was all because (the White House) wanted to get a picture of the President’s plane next to the Statue of Liberty. We have the first President ever who can use Facebook, but his staff doesn’t know how to use Photoshop.

Michael J. Fox was Kimmel’s first guest. It was a good interview. Here were my favorite quotes:

JK: I don’t care what anybody says, and nothing against Jason Bateman, but you were the best teen wolf.

MJF: I’d eat a pork sandwich in Mexico City right now.

MJF: My youngest daughter got this thing where all she wanted was a hamster… she took all of her Jonas Brothers posters off the wall and put up hamsters, which is pretty much the same thing without the skinny ties.

MJF: You can’t tape a show about optimism with the Chicago Cubs.

The rest of the show can be skipped.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights

In a further attempt to expand my pallet I’m going to review last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! There are two main reasons for this decision. First, JKL episodes are now on Hulu, which makes my life a lot easier. Second, Fallon’s guests were ones I’ve seen and reviewed recently. Here were my favorite jokes and bits from the monologue:

It’s very exciting having Big Bird here. A lot of us, me personally too, grew up with him. He’s one of the most beloved characters of all time. He’s fun and friendly, and unlike a lot of our guests, if it came down to it, in a pinch, we could eat him.

There was this:

And this:

Josh Jackson was the first couch guest. He is one of the stars of the Fox show Fringe. I enjoyed watching his interview with Kimmel because he came across as a very down to Earth kind of guy. He made me want to call him up to go out for beer tonight after work. Here’s the interview, see if you feel the same way after your done watching it:

Big Bird was the second couch guest. The interview is worth watching purely for the uniqueness of it:

Ghostface Killah was the musical guest. He was rap-tastic.

Good show. I give it:
