Late Night Highlights

It’s time for another Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

The DOW hit its highest point in a year today. China was like, “Awww, don’t spend it all at once little guy.”

Gold prices have reached a record high today, $1100 an ounce. Bad news for the dollar, but great news for the inside of T Pain’s mouth.

The desk segments were Shout Outs and Rush Limbaugh Karaoke. Shout Outs contained various Late Night people giving silly recognition to various people, places and things. It was ok. Rush Limbaugh Karaoke involved three members of the studio audience singing actually quotes from Limbaugh. It was ok too. Neither one is necessary to watch in order to feel like you had a complete day, however.

Laurence Fishburne was the first couch guest. I’m a huge fan of Fishburne. I think he’s a great actor and a really cool guy. I really enjoyed the interview, despite the fact that Jimmy couldn’t stop slobbering all over him. (I probably would have done the same thing, but I’m not about to admit that.) The clip contains the first half of the interview:

Elmo and Rosita were the second couch guests. They were there to promote the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. The interview was hilariously chaotic. I think Fallon had talking points, but those quickly went out the window as Elmo and Rosita stole the show. It was fun watching Jimmy attempt to take back control while Fishburne stood next to him laughing his ass off at everything that was going on. The clip contains most of the interview:

Groovaloo was the musical/dance guest. They were really talented.

Good show. I give it:

Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

There’s talk that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is under a lot of pressure from Republicans to run for President. Also under a lot of pressure: Chris Christie’s belt.

This is amazing. I just read about a 61-year-old woman in Brazil who is pregnant. It’s convenient though, when she breastfeeds she can just leave the baby on the floor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has commissioned an 8-foot bronze sculpture of himself. There’s even going to be a maid in charge of polishing it.

The desk segment was Models and Buckets. Who doesn’t get enjoyment from seeing models pour buckets of stuff over people’s heads:

Andy Samberg was the first couch guest. Among everything else he’s involved with he is still a regular on Saturday Night Live. The segment was hilarious. It wasn’t so much an interview as two guys just goofing around. It worked for me, though, as Andy was very funny, and Jimmy knew how to have a good time. It’s worth watching for a couple of solid laughs:

Jimmy and Andy then did a segment with Elmo. It was also terrific. If you only have time today for one clip, this is it:

Nick Mason was the second couch guest. He is a founding member of Pink Floyd. The interview was good, but too short. It was made even shorter by the fact that Jimmy kept stumbling all over himself with excitement of having Nick on his show. I appreciate Jimmy’s attitude, but Nick was very mellow, and I think the segment would have been better if Jimmy had calmed down and just let Nick talk more. Still, I think the interview is worth checking out if you have time:

The Shins was the musical guest. It’s Pink Floyd week, and they did a real nice job covering the classic Breathe.

Great show. I give it:
