Tonight Show Highlights

Since Jay Leno only has two weeks left I thought I’d review some of his final shows as a late night host. I’ve always liked Leno, especially when he would guest-host for Carson. I think he’s a good entertainer. But as my reviews have shown, I tend to choose Letterman over Leno for the 11:30 time slot. It’s just how I roll.

Anyone see The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night? These were my favorite monologue jokes:

I’m sorry if I seem a little tired. I was on the phone all night talking Conan through his first earthquake. They say the earthquake lasted fifteen seconds. That’s what guys say. Women say it was more like two seconds. It’s really true that animals can sense earthquakes. Just before the earthquake hit my cat sent me a Twitter.

Well, some sad news, even more people out of work this spring. But enough about the Houston Rockets.

The economy is so bad that the Pope went to see Angels and Demons just for the free air conditioning. The economy is so bad that FedEx is now shipping everything UPS.

Cameron Diaz was Leno’s first guest. Have you seen her biceps lately? Wow. She must be doing the Michelle Obama workout. I don’t remember the actually interview. I was just transfixed by her arms. I kid. The interview was good. Cameron is a nice person and it was neat to watch her and Jay talk about cars, speeding tickets and fear of heights.

Kirk Fox was the second guest. His standup was good.

Blink-182 was the musical guest. I’m a big Blink-182 fan it was it was good to see them reunited and playing music again.

Overall, the show was a B.

Lopez Tonight Highlights

Hey, look at me, I’m branching out and watching a new late-night talk show. Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Lopez Tonight:

Warner Brothers Studio says that Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises. Have you seen Anne Hathaway? If she’s wearing a Catwoman suit everyone in that theater will be rising.

There’s a new trend of having your wedding at a funeral home. Which makes sense cause once you get married your life is pretty much over. Because, really, your wedding night and your funeral are the last two times you’re going to be stiff.

It’s been reported that Argentina is going to start taxing breast implants…because of their sagging economy.

Cameron Diaz was the first couch guest. She’s in the new film The Green Hornet. The interview was entertaining. Cameron looked like she enjoyed being there and was having fun. George’s questions focused on Cameron’s family and where she grew up, which I appreciated. The conversation they had as a result was interesting for me since I don’t track ever move Cameron makes in life.

After a commercial break they spent the rest of the interview trying to break stuff. It was fun to watch:

Lopez doesn’t have a desk, so he doesn’t have desk segment. Instead, he had Songs in the Key of Tea, which made fun of some Tea Party members who posted a video of them singing. It was ok.

Luke Perry and Jason Priestley were the second couch guests. Luke stars in the new TV movie Goodnight for Justice, which Jason directs. The interview was ok. I felt George spent too much time talking about 90210 instead of what they were up to besides the new movie.

Greg Fitzsimmons was the stand-up guest. He had some funny moments:

Fine show. I give it:
