There are plenty of news stories out today about the fate of Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien on NBC. It looks like Leno’s 10:00 PM show is going on hiatus in February. What happens next is not entirely clear yet. TMZ reports that Leno’s show will move to 11:30 and be a half-hour long, which would push The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien back to midnight. Conan, however, is not happy about this and may decide to bail on NBC.

A similar situation occurred almost two decades ago when Leno was offered the Tonight Show job and Letterman, who most considered the heir to the throne, bailed for CBS. Sigh.

Stay tuned.

  6. Conan is hilarious. I think Leno plays it safe, but you know who’s still the funniest (albeit unintentionally)? Larry King. “You were recently caught wearing no pants. Was it drafty? GO!”

Isn’t Letterman’s production company “nopants”? Kinda ironic given his proclivities. Or is it pronocivies?

  8. Well, if hasn’t been apparent from before–I’m a big Craig Ferguson fan, so this move affects me very little (though it sucks for Conan). Although, it will save me the mad scramble to find the remote after 30Rock is over.

  12. You can’t win them all, but sometimes you can carry yourself with a good no pants joke.
