Long day. Late update. Let’s move quickly. Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

Airport officials in Beirut confiscated a necklace from Snoop Dogg over the weekend because it had bullets on it. Snoop was like, “Really? That’s all you’re gonna confiscate?”

A couple in Sweden have decided to name their son the letter “Q.” Meanwhile, the son calls his parents “F” and “U.” They named their son Q because that was their favorite character from Star Trek. The kid is expected to live long and suffer.

Kristen Wiig was the first couch guest. Kristen is on SNL and also in the new movie Whip It. She’s funny. The interview was fine.

David Wells was the second couch guest. David was a MLB pitcher for 21 years. He’s cool. The interview was good.

Christopher Cross was the musical guest. This was easily the best part of the show:

I wanted to give Late Night with Jimmy Fallon another chance this week for three reasons: First, my review on Tuesday was rushed. Second, I wasn’t been very happy with the previous two Late Night shows I reviewed. And C, Eliza Dushku was on. Nuff said. Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

Today marked the eighth anniversary of the war in Afghanistan. Eight years. Just think, only five more years and the war will be old enough for Roman Polanski to have sex with it.

Five Somali pirates were captured today after they mistakenly fired on a French military vessel. When asked what they planned to do with the captured enemies France said, “Who knows, we’ve never gotten this far before.”

NASA announced that they will crash a rocket into the moon this Friday morning hoping to discover water there. To make sure it crashes hard enough it’s being piloted by the Detroit Tigers.

The first desk segment was a takeoff on writing letters home while away at summer camp. In this version the letters are read by Late Night staffers and they’re about the fun they’re having working on the show. The second desk segment was better, especially if you’re a lover of dogs who do tricks:

Chevy Chase was the first couch guest. He stars in a new show called Community. I’m a big fan of Chevy. He’s done some really great comedy over the years. The interview was funny, not just because Chevy was funny, but because Fallon couldn’t stop slobbering all over him:

Eliza Dushku was the second couch guest. I really like Eliza. I enjoyed her on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and think she’s great on Dollhouse. The interview was good, but the follow-up fight training was the highlight:

Lenny Kravitz was the musical guest. He’s still rocking well.
